Two information meetings and comment opportunities scheduled for Project Pipeline studies in Abingdon and Marion

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold two information meetings to review safety alternatives, congestion, and transit needs along Route 11 in Abingdon and Marion.

BRISTOL—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold two information meetings to review safety alternatives, congestion, and transit needs along Route 11 in Abingdon and Marion.

Abingdon
When: Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. 
Where: Coomes Center, 300 Stanley Street, Abingdon, VA 24210.

Citizens can go online to https://vaprojectpipeline.org/studies/bristol-district/br-23-06.asp to review the study information and find the link to the survey. The survey will remain open through February 25.

Marion
When: Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4 – 6 p.m.
Where: Town Hall, 138 W. Main Street, Marion, VA 24354

This is the second round of public engagement for both studies, with the first study surveys held in Summer 2023.

This study is being conducted as part of the Project Pipeline program, which was created by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB). Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia.
